Lenz has a long history of supporting important organizations, large and small, whose missions they believe in. Lenz has worked with many non-profit cancer organizations, such as Georgia Cancer Foundation and Magic of Life Foundation, and the upcoming American Cancer Society (ACS) gala presents another opportunity for Lenz to give back.
Public Relations Director and two-time cancer survivor Ryan Klee has been working with the ACS to promote their upcoming centennial celebration, The Birthdays Ball. Klee was selected to be the Chair of the Marketing/PR Committee after one of Lenz’s former clients connected him to the event and recommended him to the group.
The Birthdays Ball, presented by Delta, Georgia Power, and Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia will be held on November 9, 2013 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Buckhead.
11Alive news anchor Karyn Greer will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the black tie event, which will include a live performance by Rupert’s Orchestra, stories from cancer survivors, and silent and live auctions. All donations and proceeds collected from the event will go towards creating more birthdays by furthering cancer research.
“I’m honored to be part of this event,” Klee said. “It means a lot to me because of my personal history with cancer. To be able to give back to this organization is really special.”
Klee, as the Chair of the Marketing/PR Committee for The Birthdays Ball, leads the group that is responsible for the design of the logo, website, save the dates, invitations, and RSVPs. His committee also works with the other committees to manage the auction items, entertainment, and the overall on-site attendee experience. Klee and Lenz are in good company on The Birthdays Ball committee, working with such organizations as Atlanta magazine, Georgia Power, CBS Radio, Grady Hospital, and 11Alive.
“This relationship with ACS has been made possible because of the long-standing commitment our company has made to promoting non-profits and healthcare organizations that we believe in,” said Richard J. Lenz, president/CEO of Lenz. “We are excited to be able to contribute to The Birthdays Ball.”
The Birthdays Ball has extra meaning this year, as 2013 marks the 100th year of the American Cancer Society. Because Atlanta is the national headquarters of the ACS, its chapter will be the final organization in the United States to have its centennial gala.
