Lenz’s 30-second “It Happens” TV commercial, developed in early 2013, recently won Silver in the 2013 Davey Awards. The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small ?rms worldwide.
The 2013 Davey Awards received nearly 4,000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production ?rms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design ?rms and public relations ?rms.
The awards honor work whose strength comes from big ideas, out-of-the-box thinking, and exceptional execution rather than “Goliath” budgets.
The Davey Awards are judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Condé Nast, Disney, GE, Microsoft, Monster.com, MTV, Publicis, Yahoo! and many more.
Lenz was up against some great contenders, including work that was done for HBO, Big Machine Records, and Paul Mitchell, and is thrilled to have won a Silver award.
Creative execution for the “It Happens” commercial was developed by Lenz Creative Director Cameron Spivey, in partnership with Outback Editorial, a creative editing and design studio. The spot features animated kinetic type, motion graphics, and an adorable “every man” character who can’t seem to stay healthy, no matter how hard he tries.
